Reunion

My family has two little reunions each year; one at either Thanksgiving or Christmas, and the other in June. This year, Ben and I were able to welcome my parents, Mike and his family, Matt and his family, Scott with his, and my nephew Jeffrey (who is now 14 years old and 6'1" tall!). Everyone arrived by Thursday night, giving us a long weekend together. We spent a lot of time playing Wii, swimming at the clubhouse pool, playing at the park, watching slides, talking, and eating lots of yummy food! The weather was relatively nice, though every afternoon it would cloud up and drizzle off and on. The mornings were bright and sunny and allowed for some play time outside, and the rain kept the temperatures nice and cool. I loved it!

Or at least that was until the rain almost ruined our planned trip up the Provo canyon to South Fork Park. Just as we were about to start getting everything loaded up, the wind picked up and blew like crazy and rain started pouring down with thunder and lightning accompanying it. So, we started making arrangements to have our BBQ at the house instead but then the clouds parted just for us! We were a couple hours later than we planned, but the rain and wind stopped and the sun came out. We rushed around the house and gathered things up and headed for the canyon! When we arrived, we were able to let the kids play in the creek a little, have a delicious BBQ, and sit and visit while the kids played in the grass. Not long after we ate, the clouds started rolling in for another round of rain and we packed up quickly and made it out just as the rain came down. It was very nice to be able to make it up there after all and enjoy the outdoors while the kids had room to run, scream, play and cry!

Mr. 14-year-old himself, all 6 feet and 1 inch of him!

Mike and Meggan's little girl Kaitlyn (or Katie) (a before and after editing)

She is such a Daddy's girl! Aren't they cute walking together?!

We also had a small celebration for Mom's birthday next week. Meggan made a yummy lemon cake! :)

Uncle Ben and his buddy Kyle (Matt and Trista's son).

Jeffrey and the kids playing a little baseball.

Buddies Kyle and Jayden (Scott and Kim's).

Yes, I was there too! Here's proof!
