Better Than Expected

I'm sure many of you have heard about and/or seen the movie Avatar. This movie was not something I was even the least bit interested in seeing. It looked like some weird, stupid movie about those strange-looking creatures. Something that guys would like...if they had the right personality that allowed them to be interested in a movie like that. There was no way I was going to spend money and 3 hours of my time watching it. Then I heard people rave about how good it was. Guys, girls, women, etc. all said it was a really good movie! The reviews of it were excellent, and the box office numbers were incredible. I was baffled! How could it be? Maybe it wasn't so bad afterall...but I was still skeptical. The more good we heard about it, the more Ben wanted to see it. With all the praise and with Ben wanting to see it, I decided to go ahead and give it a try (hoping I wouldn't be bored to tears for 3 hours).

As the title of this post says, this movie was actually much better than I expected! I was so surprised! There was action, a little romance, and sci-fi all in one. There was one part that was a bit cheesy, but otherwise I came out of the movie feeling impressed. It was really good, and didn't feel at all like it lasted 3 hours. It was definitely NOT a waste of time or money (especially since we went to the cheaper matinee show). If you are like me and you think this movie looks dumb...I would encourage you to give a chance (at least rent it when it comes out if you don't want to get a sitter or pay the theater prices)! You can't judge a movie by its posters! :)
